Badam / Almond Halwa


Ingredients :

Almonds – 1 Cup
Sugar – 1 ½ cup
Kesar colour powder ( Yellow ) – a pinch
Ghee
Saffron – little
Milk – ½ cup.

Method :

Soak almonds in hot water for 2 hour.
Remove the skin of almond and grind it to a smooth paste by adding milk .
Mix little water to sugar and heat it in a thick bottom kadai , till it is dissolved and one string consistency is reached.
Now add the badam paste and cook till it becomes thick.
Add the kesar colour and saffron ( dissolve the saffron in hot milk )
Add ghee and combine well.
Keep stirring constantly until the halwa sticks to the bottom of the vessel.
Turn off the heat once it reaches the halwa consistency.
Badam Halwa is ready to eat.
