Crispy Onion Rings


Ingredients

1 medium size Onion-cut horizontally so that u get 15 ring shaped pieces
1 tbsp rice flour
2 tsp maida flour
1 tbsp corn flour
2 tbsp besan flour
1 tbsp semolina - coarsely ground
1/2 tsp chilli powder
a pinch of white pepper powder
1/4 tsp jeera powder
a pinch of garam masala powder
a pinch of asafoetida powder
1 tsp salt
50 - 60ml lukewarm water
100ml refined oil
few curry leaves

Directions

Cut the Onion horizontally so that u get 15 round-shaped separate Onion rings.
Take a bowl, add rice flour, maida,corn flour, besan flour,ground semolina,chilli powder, garam masala, asafoetida powder,jeera powder and salt.Mix this well.
Add lukewarm water to this flour-mix (little by little)and mix this well.(the batter should be as thick as Idli batter or Bajji batter).
Heat oil in a kadai,add few curry leaves(the oil smells good with curry leaves).
Now dip the onion rings in the batter and deep-fry them till the turn golden brown on both sides.
Serve this Crispy Onion Rings with Tomato Ketchup or Coconut Chutney.
